Nintendo Play Day

Add to calendar:

Join other Nintendo game enthusiasts for the Nintendo Game Day at The Branson Dragon on March 30th at 5pm. You are invited to show up with your own controllers and pick with those who arrived to play either Super Smash Brothers Ultimate or Mario Kart. The guidelines for each game are below.

Entry fee: $3

Prize: store credit based upon participation

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate - Squad Strike Details:

Players will choose their best five characters to man their squad. Characters may not be repeated in a Squad Strike team as well as full clones cannot be on a squad together. For an example of repeating characters, regardless of the different move set if the Mii Fighter you can only have one on your Squad Strike. For an example of full clone characters, think of Pit and Dark Pit. The order you place your character will be fixed once the tournament starts.

Standard Smash mode rules will apply to this Stamina Best of Tournament. Each player will have only one stock per character. Depending on participation, there will be a fixed series of 3 or 5 rounds. Each round match up will be a new character from each team. Players will return to the menu screen between each round. The winner is the player with the most rounds won after all matchups are played. The odd numbers available as squad sizes ensure this format cannot end in a tie.

Mario Kart Details:

Players will compete in 150cc Grand Prix in groups of four on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Standings will be based on a point system. The winners of each group will advance to a final 150cc Grand Prix. The amount of races depends on participation.

Race settings:

  • No Teams
  • Normal items
  • CPU level set to Normal
  • all characters allowed.
